Can I register domain with fake name or address?

Friends, I may buy a domain soon, but while registering domain, I don't want to give my true information i.e. true name, true address. And I wonder if it's possible to register with fake name and address. If I do so, will I face any problem in the future? In the first place, shall I need to submit my documents or photo id proofs to register domains?

ya of course you can give fake details while registering.But many domains like .us require more advanced details but adding fake details is no problem at all.If you searched on net then almost all ptc,hyip and many forums owner have false info on their profile.

you can register a domian name with fake name and address,but i have register a hosting with free domain with my true name and address,if i know i can use a fake name and fake address when i bought it,maybe i will do use it.

Providing fake name and address is not the question here, but what is your real motive behind that? all wrong things you do will definitely go wrong for you in some point of time for sure

domain privacy registration puts the company address instead of ours.. then who is the actual owner of the domain the company or us???
